During the surgery, the worn out cartilage of the all compartments of knee joint are replaced with artificial metallic components. The procedure typically involves making an incision in the knee, removing damaged cartilage and bone, and replacing them with prosthetic components that mimic the natural joint's movement. These components include a metal femoral component, a metal or plastic tibial component, and sometimes a plastic patellar component. The artificial joint allows for smooth and pain-free movement, effectively restoring mobility.
